National Lottery Boost for Thurnscoe Regeneration’s ‘Grow Wild’ Project
Thurnscoe Regeneration is a small charity based in Thurnscoe delivering a variety of projects for the benefit of the whole community. The National Lottery has awarded them a significant amount of funding to deliver environmentally themed ‘Grow Wild in Thurnscoe’ activities over the next two years starting in autumn 2026.
A number of special events such as eco-friendly markets, energy-efficiency sessions, community clean-ups and more family ‘Grow Wild’ nature based activities can now go ahead. There are also plans to introduce a Repair Café to the village to reduce the number of items going to landfill and help build a stronger local economy.
Green spaces in the village will also benefit from more ambitious planting of communal areas and the introduction of a small woodland area.

‘We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised our work in this way. Thanks to the National Lottery, we can now encourage more residents to engage with our ‘Grow Wild’ themed activities over the next two years promoting physical and emotional well-being and a greater understanding of environmental issues.’
